SIGN-UPS FOR THE 2010 CARD SWAP HAVE NOW CLOSED.

What is the handmade card swap?
The card swap, now in it's FIFTH year, is a project of Kids Craft
Weekly.
Through
the swap, participating families send handmade cards to ten specific
addresses, and in return, they receive cards from ten other families.
What are the
rules?
There
are only two rules. The first is that the cards have to be handmade by
kids. The second is that once you have signed up you have to commit to
sending your cards – this is really important.
If you sign up
and then drop out, there will be families who do not receive their ten
cards. I think we all agree that we do not want any disappointed little
kids.
What does it
cost?
The
swap is free of course, but your family will have to incur the cost of
making the cards and posting them off, potentially to international
addresses.
As the swap is generated randomly we are not able to
match you up with domestic addresses (or international addresses) only.
It's the luck of the draw.
Can I sign up
my children individually?
Yes
you can but please be aware that this can
get expensive and overwhelming as the lead-up to Christmas is very busy
for most families. Personally, I think it works best to sign up as a
family
and make the ten cards together.
What do I
write on my cards?
You
can write what you wish on your ten cards. I suggest that you include
some information about what it's like in your part of the world and
perhaps to share some of your family Christmas traditions. Some
previous participants have included photographs, poems, artwork and
stories.
What if my family doesn't celebrate Christmas?
You are welcome to participate and send 'holiday' cards or 'hanukkah'
cards or any other sort of card. Keep in mind though that the majority
of the cards that you receive will be Christmas cards. If that isn't a
problem for you then please, you are more than welcome to participate.
How do I
sign-up?
Visit
the link below and enter your address details and email address in the
form. Make sure that your email address is correct as you will be
required to provide this email address to retrieve your list of swap
partners.
Don't just rush to the sign-up button though :) The following
information is all really important.
When do
sign-ups close?

When will I
get my list of swap partners?
You
will be able to retrieve the addresses of your swap partners several
days after the swap closes. Make sure that you are subscribed to the
Kids Craft Weekly newsletter so that you know when and how to retrieve
your list of swap partners.
What is the
deadline for sending cards?
You should try and post all ten of your cards by the end of the first week of December, sooner if
possible to allow for holiday-season delays.
With any luck, your family should start to receive cards soon after.
I think I'd really like some card-marking inspiration!
Gee, funny you should mention that! I have a fabulous
printable mini-book that is full to the brim with fabulous card ideas
for Christmas. It features detailed instructions along with gallery
images of my favourite cards from the card swap in previous years. Take a look here for more info.
I've read
this whole page! Please can I sign-up already?
Sure!
Click the link below to sign-up. If a lot of people are trying to
sign-up at once the page might be a little slow so please be patient.
